Xeomin® (incobotulinumtoxinA) is an FDA approved nonsurgical treatment commonly used to reduce, eliminate or prevent the appearance of lines & wrinkles throughout the face. The most commonly treated areas are in between the eyebrows, the forehead and around the eyes. Other areas include the following: upper lip, lower lip, chin and the platys-ma bands of the neck. Botox and Xeomin are both classified as neurotoxins and work in the same way to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. 1 unit of Xeomin is equivalent to 1 unit of Botox.
Glabella (Frown Lines), Forehead, Around the Eyes (Crow’s Feet), Upper lip, Nose, Chin, and Neck.
Xeomin injections take in 3-5 days to take effect. The full result of your Botox treatment will be seen 10-14 days after your treatment.
Prior to injecting, your nurse may numb the area with a cold pack. Discomfort is minimal. The entire procedure takes approximately 10-15 minutes. Many people are in and out of the office without downtime.
Patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding or have a neurological disease should not use Xeomin. Since Xeomin doesn't work for all wrinkles, a consultation with a nurse and or nurse practitioner is preferably recommended.
No alcohol 24 hours prior to treatment. Discontinue anti-inflammatory medications (i.e. ibuprofen) 24-48 hours prior to treatment
Do not lie down for four hours after treatment. No facials, massage or waxing for 72 hours after treatment. Do not exercise the same day as treatment.
