Do you look older than you feel?  Is your face riddled with fine lines and wrinkles? Do you have crow’s feet? Do you have frown lines? Do you look like a different person when you smile? Botox can help you with that.

Many people think that getting Botox is a sign of aging and needs to be accepted inevitably. They think old ladies get Botox so that they can look young again. On the contrary, pursuing Botox could mean a number of things apart from aging – it could mean that you’re expressive with your facial features, that you communicate through expression, or that your skin is a tad dry. Whatever the reason for fine lines and wrinkles, Botox is an excellent way of washing away your woes and rejuvenating your skin whether you’re 18 or 80.

Botox is also an excellent preventative measure for future fine lines and wrinkles. Why wait for your wrinkles to settle in before doing something about it?

What is Botox?

Botulinum Toxin, more commonly known as Botox, consists of a natural neurotoxic protein formed by the bacterium clostridium botulinum that when injected into tightened and strained muscles, relaxes and weakens them.  The result is your skin adopting a smoother and more youthful appearance. This is a solution that temporarily paralyzes the muscles so that they no longer contract as easily and crease your skin with their every movement.

The treatment is a nonsurgical approach to reducing or eliminating the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles that has carried the world to a new era of wrinkle correction.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a nonsurgical treatment commonly used to reduce or eliminate the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles, or treat crows feet around the eye area.

How long has Botox been used for cosmetic purposes?

On April 12, 2002 the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced approval of cosmetic usage of botulinum toxin type A, also known as Botox Cosmetic, to relieve moderate to severe wrinkles and lines for a temporary amount of time. Since then, Botox usage has become a revolutionary and widespread fad that serves millions spanning younger and older generations alike.

How does Botox work?

Needles might seem scary sometimes, but with a fine needle and the soft touch of our nurses, this treatment is a completely endurable experience. Botox is injected into muscles that cause lines and wrinkles by temporarily blocking nerve impulses from reaching them, and therefore relaxing them from constant tightening. When those muscles are calmed, they no longer contract to show lines or wrinkles on your face.

Which areas can be treated?

With Botox treatment, dosage is key – the more Botox that is injected, the less you will be able to move a particular muscle. Because Botox treatments are customizable, desirable outcomes are achievable whether you desire a natural look or a more frozen look.

While Botox has the capacity to freeze your face, it is a myth that all Botox treatments end with a frozen face. Under the hand of our experienced nurses, any look you want is a possibility.

While there is no recovery time, we recommend refraining from exercising, facials, massages, and sun exposure to your face for about 24 hours.

  2. I really like how you said, "we recommend refraining from exercising, facials, massages, and sun exposure to your face for about 24 hours." This is really good advice because a lot of people aren't aware of what to do after a procedure. I have been thinking about getting some Botox work done, but I was really nervous of what to expect. How painful does it hurt when they go through the entire procedure?

The procedure takes about 15 minutes and the Pain level is typically manageable for most patients.
  3. I have always been interested in how botox works. I love how you said, the treatment is a nonsurgical approach to reducing or eliminating the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles that have carried the world to a new era of wrinkle correction. When I think of botox, I would not have thought of it as a new way of becoming even more beautiful than you already are. I will definitely have to see how I feel about botox after a little more research.
